School Routine

The aim of assessment at Kelvin Grove is to enable our children to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding and to recognise what they need to do to improve their learning. It also allows teachers to set objectives that accurately reflect the needs of each child.

At the end of Year 2 and Year 6, assessments are made by the teacher using nationally available materials and by comparing children's work with national standards. These are known as SATs or Standard Assessment Tests. The level achieved in each of the core subjects is reported to the parents i n the annual report.
